Point Arena Lighthouse, Northern California
Now I'm up inside the Point Arena Lighthouse.  This is the old lamp that used to light the way for potentially wayward ships.  The  fresnel lens surrounding it contains 666 glass elements to maximize the intensity of the beam.  Nowadays, there's a bright strobe on the side of the building that does the job.  And, with GPS gaining a stronger foothold, I imagine the utility of these structures will be even less in the future.
