Lombard Street, San Francisco, California
Lombard Street is a victim of it's own success.  It's about the curviest street in the world- you can only go about 5 mph down the twisty snake-like street.  It's one block away from Greenwich's steps- so steep they opted to put in stairs rather than a street.  On Lombard, you will find some of the most expensive houses around, and the view is spectacular.  However, there is a constant barrage of traffic and pedestrians, so you get little privacy. At night, drunken motorcyclists take the downhill challenge and for extra kick, they gun them loudly to set off all the car alarms.  So, beautiful location and view, little privacy or peace and quiet.  At least on this site, you can enjoy the view in 3D in the peace and quiet of home.
