Santa Barbara, California
Much of my Los Angeles and Southern California experience has been visiting my friend Allen, who lives in Thousand Oaks. We went to visit them in 2004 and went up so Santa Barbara for a day. It's a beautiful area, and I found it restful compared with the crowds and traffic in LA (which I like as well, just in a different way). This area is on the beach.
