Chateau Souverain, Sonoma, California
This was my first trip to Wine Country- my wife had been to Napa previously. We decided to try Sonoma, a short distance from Napa and more rural. The first one we stopped at was Chateau Souverain. First off, not all wineries are quaint and pastoric. Clos du Bois looked like a wine factory, so we just drove by. This one was a perfect place to start, however, beginning with well-manicure grounds and an inviting staircase.
