The main sequence of sunrise shots is over, but here's one more I shot as a panorama consisting of 6 photos. It was taken at 5:40, just as the sun was about to peek over the horizon. You can see the cars down at the main parking lot- we were a bit higher. We had by far the better spot- if you drive up, go early so you can get a spot at the very top. As you can see here, the people at the visitor's center are closer to the cloud layer, and the more oblique angle will not give as good a shot. A final note- a lot of people rode a bus up in order to ride a bike down. It's a popular thing to do, but keep in mind, if you want high quality photos, you need a tripod and that won't work very well on the ride down on a bike. Also, the bike companies herd you off the mountain shortly after sunrise, so you can't really enjoy the mountain at your own pace. So, I stay away from scripted tourist events and DIY- do it yourself!
