One of the wonders of the world, to me- the Haleakala sunrise is one of the most beautiful things I have ever witnessed. To see it, you must get up early- we got up about 2:30 in the morning, as we were staying in Kihei. It was a little after 3am when we left, and it took a couple of hours to ascend to the summit. Once there, even at 5am (this was June 26), there was already light on the horizon. This was the very first shot. None of the shots here are manipulated one bit- not even for brightness or contrast or saturation. These are exactly as the camera recorded them.
