A few other shots of Haleakala for completeness sake- this was taken at the summit where we saw the sunrise. The Silversword plant is endangered, and this variety grows only on Haleakala. The grow for 20-50 years, and then bloom for a few months, then die. They are perhaps 2-3 feet tall- 60-90cm.
