Of course, public access is only to a small part of the caves- the extend much farther that you can see.  Parts have yet to be explored.  Nearby is another complex called Lechuguilla Caverns, still accessible to the public, but in very small groups, and still only to parts of it.  Overall, just a fraction of the caves in this area have been explored.
