Denton County
Construction finished in 1897 on this, Denton County's third courthouse in the city of Denton.  (There were others prior to the move of the county seat in 1857.)  As with many metropolitan courthouses in Texas, this one is no longer used as a courthouse, although the county commissioners and county judges have offices there.  Also, the Denton County Courthouse-on-the-Square Museum is located there.

It sits beautifully on the town square in old downtown Denton.  It is built from locally quarried limestone, gray sandstone from Mineral Wells, and red granite from Burnet County for the columns.
