Wise County
This Romanesque Revival courthouse is in Decatur, near the junction of US Routes 380 and 287.  It was designed by J. Richy Gordon.  Decatur was formerly called Taylorsville.  The original courthouse burned in 1985, and was replaced the next year by this beauty.

The square area is small, but pleasant. It sports the usual antique shops, plus a couple of old-style water towers.
