Fountain Place, Dallas, Texas
There's no building in Dallas quite like Fountain Place.  Formerly called the Allied Bank Tower, it was designed by I. M. Pei, who also designed our Mort Meyerson Symphony Center, and the glass pyramid in front of the Louvre.  He's a master of the somewhat different, and I love his work.  Unfortunately, there was to be a second tower, turned at a right angle to this one, but the mid-80's real estate bust hit and this tower set a record- the largest foreclosure in the history of the world to that day- $250 million.  I'm sure it's been surpassed by now, but it was significant.  A similar plan nearby a few years later nearby with the City Place buildings befell Southland Corporation.  One tower got built, one got shelved.
