American Airlines Arena, Dallas, Texas
This was the very first sporting event in the new arena in August, 2001.  It was between the Dallas Sidekicks and the San Diego Sockers.  The teams are warming up here.  This is a really nice arena, though the upper deck seats are a bit steep.  And it's an advertiser's dream as well, as there are color displays everywhere.  As for the game, with less than a minute to go, the Sidekicks were behind 5-3.  About 10,000 of the record 17,710 crowd had already left.  Then, with the goalie playing offensively, they scored, and scored again, tying the game.  They then won in the first five minutes of OT.  10,000 people must have been surprised when they read the paper the next morning.  It turned into a good game.  Never leave a game early, you people!  My friend Randy had brought along his digital camera, and I asked him to take this picture for me.
