FM1855, Texas
Something else Texas is famous for, perhaps unexpectedly for some given it's tough image, is it's wildflowers.  March and April are banner months for driving through Texas' countryside, from east to west, north to south.  Different flowers dominate different regions.  Prime amongst them is Hill Country to the west of Austin and the plains to the east of Austin.  Peak seasons vary a bit due to rainfall in the past year and temperatures this year, with the past winter being a good portend of this year's batch.  East of Austin peaks a little before Hill County, due to higher elevation temperature differences.  This field is just off US 281 south of Burnet, on FM 1855.
